Impact of Covid-19 restrictions on freight transportation Due to restrictions of the covid-19 pandemic, international freight transportation is affected in the import / export or transit of goods. In Europe common guidelines for freight drivers have been established mobility during a Covid-19 outbreak. Currently the European Commission encourages Member States to cross border where there is regular cross-border freight flow, to establish special rapid procedures which ensure smooth cargo movement. For example, at borders may create special designated lanes or be allocated special member States recognized stickers to facilitate entry into the Member State in which they continue to deliver goods. In the future the Commission will consider stronger common policy for international freight shipments would proceeded smoothly. Restrictions are imposed because of the need for a coordinated approach at EU level to make it easier for freight transport drivers to cross internal borders.
